“A perfect base for all our adventures!”
A The opening ceremony for the Glasgow Commonwealth Games will take place on the 23rd of July. This is a unique multi sporting event that takes place over a few weeks. Held only every 4 years it has competitors from most of the 53 member countries in the Commonwealth. The Queen put a message in a Baton and sent it around all the member countries with it only recently returning home and travelling throughout Britain. The Baton will be opened and the Queen will read out the message at the opening ceremony.
My daughter was one of the lucky ones who got to hold the Baton during it's travels !
